JABARRY HITS THE ROOF! "BONNIE & CLYDE"

Don't be alarmed our 'new face' Jabarry didn't lose his temper or punch anyone out;

on the contrary Jabarry and freelance model Erika were all smiles as they headed up to the gorgeous roof-deck (complete with pool) of the Ocean 2 Hotel.

The property which overlooks the Barbados south coast and a stretch of unbelievably blue sea was a fitting start for what the aspiring model described as his first "real photoshoot".

The smiles soon changed however; as the pair served-up Bonnie & Clyde faces under the direction of the artistic team. If we didn't know better; we'd think the real gangster couple had come for a vacation!

The 'fierce faces' didn't outshine the beauty of the clothing and accessories provided by Attitude Boutique and Republic 21 however; throw in the magic touch of Danielle Archer of Colour Coded Makeup and gangster never looked so good!

With resident UK photographer Matthew John on the lens and a clear blue tropical sky; here is just a sneak peek of the images created, not a bad start for the 6' 3" aspiring model.
Whats happening on your roof?

DANIELLE Paints The Town REDD!

So much we could say; but its best to let the photos do the talking.

Suffice it to say, whenever Danielle does a photo-shoot for any client, she takes no prisoners and the streets run red!

FIGHT CLUB: Still Standing!!!

Ephesians 6: 13
New International Version (NIV)
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand!

Struggle, Challenges, Conflict all part of life.

Each day we get up is a victory in itself and immediately after getting out of bed... the FIGHT commences again! If you are breathing, you are already part of the 'Fight Club'.

We all feel pushed-around, pressed, our back against the wall at times, the two important things to remember are: GOD is in control and that it WILL PASS; with that in mind whatever you are facing becomes a matter of ENDURANCE. Out-lasting the bad-times, surmounting the barriers and over coming the struggles.

When you are exhausted and can hear your breath as heavy as the load you feel on your shoulders.
No matter how hard you get hit, pushed, pounded;  - give it YOUR ALL so that when the dust settles you are...
STILL STANDING!!!

Hands On The Wheel: "Shut Up and Drive!"

New Year's is all about 'RESOLUTIONS' right? NOT making mistakes you made in the previous year; being a better person; stopping this; starting that, discarding bad habits and people...

Is it about surviving and discarding the 'wreckage' of the past 12 months, or IS it about DRIVING?

No matter what the 'wreckage' the past has brought, be assured that all your attempts to stop future accidents will be futile unless you focus, not on the wreck but your driving [and we dare say survival] skills. Driving in preparation for an accident usually averts it!

The "wreck" is never the focus of attention for the paramedics- the PEOPLE are; because no matter whose fault it was [including your own] we can ALL emerge winners if we focus [and starting with yourself] on the people.

Being right is 'the wreck'. Saying, "I'm Sorry" anyway is focusing on 'people'.
Selfishness is 'the wreck'. Seeing the other person's point-of-view is focusing on 'people'.
Shouting loud is 'the wreck'. Listening is focusing on 'people'.

Accidents are not caused by cars, but by the people driving them. No matter how great or faulty the car, it's 'saving' the people in it and not focusing on the situation that is most important.

The road of life in 2012 will be filled with pot-holes, smooth bits; challenges; joys; great people and people who sometimes act like they own the road and there WILL be crashes and clashes. Rather than resolving to be 'the perfect driver' avoiding all accidents [and people in the process] focus on driving in a way that PRESERVES life - even if [when] crashes happen.

Relationships aren't meant to be a series of disastrous accidents. Life is about enjoying the ride and surviving the bumps. Character isn't built by a perfect record, it's what you do when you are not perfect- when you crash!

So don't just resolve with YOU in mind; watch how what you do affects others and find-out what might be affecting them - seek to understand before seeking to be understood.

Because sometimes; something beautiful can emerge from a wreck.

In short, "Shut-up and drive!"

Who's That Chick?

Danielle is the definition of "sweet". Obviously the product of a 'good up-bringing', she is polite and precise in a way that can only be replicated by 'finishing school'. She attends what has historically been know as the top school in the  island Harrison College; but there is no cockiness about  this lass. Her humility is actually one of her most endearing features..her voice a few octaves above a whisper...

Put a pair of heels, a dress and make-up on however, and she suddenly transforms into a fashion-diva goddess and every inch of her 5' 9" frame commands your attention.

Her eyes exude a quiet but steely confidence like the 'eye of the storm'

When Barbadian fashion-prodigy and Italian-trained  fashion designer Antonio Cumberbatch; (who is a bombshell in his own right) chose Danielle to shoot for some of his latest pieces in what was her very first photoshoot; we at GADAL were delighted!

If these images are anything to judge by, we think you will be too!

Captured by the lens of Michael "Mikey" Rapley each piece is edgy, provocative and a perfect blend of both masculine and feminine elements; contrasting starkly against the beautiful and relaxed backdrop of the sand-dunes and sea-grape undergrowth on the coastline of St. Andrew in the paradise of Barbados.
Make-up was meticulously applied to the model by Colour Coded.

Add to this talent pool the extremely talented Cecil Evans of Caribbean Retouch; the master retoucher himself and you have a spread worthy of the best high-end glossy or flashy online-magazine fashion can throw your way. You know you have model-potential when you can get any one of these people out of their bed; furthermore the entire team!

So who's that chick?

Danielle baby! And she's here to stay!
